'Twins' was Schwarzenegger's first foray into comedy, but it wasn't his last - and in my opinion, it wasn't his best. If that's true, then I must believe that this one is the only one where a film like 'Twins' works. Some believe there are infinite parallel universes and infinite timelines. There's a fine line between genius and insanity, and 'Twins' (1988) was it. He could kill ya as soon as look at ya, and audiences lapped it up - until one day someone looked at him and thought, "Geez, he could be Danny DeVito's twin". 'Total Recall' (1990), 'The Running Man' (1987), and of course the biggest one of them all, 'The Terminator' (1984) and its many sequels. In honour of one of the greatest wing-spreaders on and off the screen, Mr Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the 30th anniversary of one of Mr Olympia's greatest films and turns at comedy with 'Kindergarten Cop', I've compiled a list of some of the best career shakers going around. So why are we so determined to pigeon-hole our favourites? Why are we so offended when they decide to switch things up on us? We curse their names when their careers become stale and predictable, yet scoff when they choose to take a chance, rebrand or spread their wings. When they do it well, they are chameleons. People often forget that actors aren't just tabloid fodder and fragrance pushers. Wrestlers became box-office drawcards, and Mork from Ork won an Oscar. Indie darlings suddenly made blockbusters. Now it's not uncommon to see a Matthew McConaughey, Al Pacino, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Jude Law, Emma Stone, Amy Adams or Chris Evans grace the small screen week-to-week. Once upon a time, TV used to be the lower form of entertainment, while film was the pinnacle. No, no, no, not with their off-screen antics (although, yeah, that too), but with their career paths. I'm not trying to imply all duelists require initiative, but merely that I utilize it on my duelists. If I find a really good guy to make a duelist with, he's going to be turned into a DPS. The idea behind a duelist to me is DPS or tanking, but skirmishing with the enemy. It allows me to skip some melee def rolls for range defense or fatigue/HP or even resolve if need be. I also utilize dodge on a duelist build, so initiative goes hand in hand for defense. I could use adrenaline but that is fatiguing, I would rather have that fatigue for a riposte or a rotate/footwork. Personally, I generally build duelists to go first so I can bait the enemy into charging and swinging at him. You kill something by destroying its HP, not by destroying its armour. Armour ignore is godlike in this game, and perhaps that needs its own thread sometime. On the subject of armour ignore, it's not just for skellingtons. You and Tephros are right about the fatigue costs I tend to use khopesh anyway because hell if I ever find a good fatigue brother. I agree that it is better but it is more stat/perk demanding on the brother.Įdit: Decapitate is 19 on Orc vs 15 on 2h with mastery. Orc Cleaver is more fat per swing, not less, 17 vs 15 without mastery which I believe goes to 13 vs 12 with mastery. no 1h unique good enough for it to be worth it. I mean I guess in long games with how champions work you're bound to find one around the 3rd crisis, I suppose. which is 18 without mastery and I think 13 with mastery, but it's going to be 12 for the rusty warblade. Less fatigue per swing? The things come with a lot of extra base fatigue and an extra 5 fatigue per swing. but finding the right unique and the right bro, that happens 0-1 times per game for me, and I don't play short games much. I've touted 1-shotting ancient legionnaires with the right unique orc cleaver or axe. I don't actually think I'm one of those people. In famed form, a famed khopesh or orc cleaver could easily be better than any rusty warblade you happen to have.īut rusty warblade is still awesome and very good with RA. Therefore, boosts to armour ignore damage are truly insane against the right enemies.Įven not in named form, a double-grip orc cleaver will do comparable base damage to a rusty warblade with significantly better pierce and for less fat per swing. ![]() I really think people don't appreciate armour ignore: in a sense, due to how the damage calculation works, 1 point of armour ignore damage is worth 10 points of armour efficiency damage. Why do you think init is required? I don't see anything about duelist that makes init necessary for all builds involving it.Īlthough rusty warblade is great, an orc cleaver duelist is arguably better in many cases due to the extra armour ignore. ![]() I'll admit I rarely build duelists, but it's mostly a function of, "I couldn't make it better than a rusty warblade guy (barbarian 2h cleaver)," i.e. But what type of build were you thinking of going for? Typical 2H, Damage Dealer, Tank, etc.? He'll have very strong single target damage or an AoE ability with the Bardiche. He won't be an exemplar recruit, but he will be a decent/good recruit. His HP is good, melee defense might bring him to 2H quality if he can land a few more +3's and if you pump his fatigue well enough. In my opinion, he's not cut for a duelist build. Just be aware of the weaknesses of the weapon and path you're taking. That's just my opinion though, don't take it as fact. You're better off bringing a hammer, axe, mace, etc. But as soon as a warlord or warrior engages you, hell no. Their damage can be iffy and against anything in heavy armor or non-human, they suck. Flails for me are just pure armor farmers. ![]() Is a nimble Flail duelist viable? No, in my opinion. He gave you a list of all the enemies with Steel Brow like you asked. Separate question - is a nimble flail duelist (brute with solid Ma/Md) viable as an endgame bro in a LW game? I did NOT build him with indomitable and I'm just not sure I have room for a melee bro w/o indomitable on a 12 man roster. So no barbarians, no orcs, no gobbos, not most humans. With rival tribesmen and deadly predators everywhere, you're going to need at least a few places to find sanctuary. The world of Far Cry Primal is extremely hostile to human life. With larger animals like mammoths, bears and saber-toothed tigers, the best course of action is to dodge and aim for their heads. The best way to kill a charging wildcat or wolf is to either try and hit them in the head with an arrow during their initial charge, or equipping the club and swinging while they're in mid-leap.įor small animals like boars and badgers, the club works best, since it can be hard to hit them in the head once they've charged. They can typically sense you through undergrowth if they get too close, and they'll make a beeline for you. You'll have to switch your headshot strategy up a bit when fighting predatory animals. Even better still, if you can pick off enemies when they inevitably become separated from the larger group, there won't be additional enemies around to spot your stealthy handiwork. If you get good enough at headshots with the bow, you can even defeat large groups of enemies without being seen. Stealth stands in sharp contrast to firing off a shot and tagging your prey. Your bow and arrow are silent, so as long as you shoot your target in the head, your enemies won't immediately discover you. If you've spotted a group of rival tribesmen, crouch down and take cover in nearby plant growth. These tips apply to hunting wild animals as well. Even as you progress and acquire additional skills, it's still a good idea to sneak up on your enemies whenever possible to get a good vantage point. In fact, in the brutal, prehistoric world of Oros, stealth is going to be your best bet throughout.
